Oh, that pretty purple glow (Balmer series)

Performance CH1-76 (PHM) vs. Sigma Tau (AHM) with TSC 5110A

Stable32 identifies the peak as 1.43 Hz (0.700 s). Odd, no idea what this is.

A better view of the strange modulation using high-resolution (10 ms samples) phase plot. This is from 100 Hz TSC (LAN port) data taken in parallel with 1 Hz (serial port) data.

Results of 5-day run (log17073)

Unattended, totally uninterrupted data (I was at PTTI).

Phase plot revealing two obvious frequency jumps:

Frequency plot (1000 s averages), showing 1.5×10-13 jump, but it slowly recovers during next day. Odd, no idea what this was.

DHDEV of full data set:

Drift removed ADEV/MDEV of clean 3-days after 2nd frequency jump:

So it looks like the noise floor might be about 5×10-15. That's low enough I need to check how much of the noise is actually the reference (a Sigma Tau maser). Time to start a 3 maser run, I guess.

Live TSC screen plots (log17073) at 488636 seconds (5d 15h 43m 56s)

See bump from 0.2 to 2 s and drift after 104 s.
